Drawings & Paintings by Beth Courtright Detwiler
Drawing Portfolios-
Black & White Drawings
These pieces are drawn with archival india ink on 100% Cotton Rag Paper, Cold and Hot press dependant upon each individual drawing. All are archival and ready for framing.
Color Drawings
These archival artworks are created with chalk pastel and mixed media drawing material on 100% Cotton Rag Paper.
Digital Illustrations
These drawings were created on an online Artist website called Queeky.com. Originating within a drawing program that was (at the time) being developed by an Artist from Germany, I was one of several artists across the globe using trial and error drawing methods to help flesh out the beta-testing process. I began using the site in 2007 when there were just a handful of artists. And now over the years it has blossomed into an enormously successful online graphic arts social site with over 100,000 artists. In recent years I have taken a hiatus from the digital realm to produce "gallery artworks" in my studio, but I still maintain a profile of 60 experimental drawings on my Queeky online profile under the name bcdetwiler.

Mini Oil Portraits
These Mini Oil Portraits are painted with professional grade oils on linen or cotton duck canvas- mounted to poplar wood block that is wood burned or stained with pigments to provide an attractive frame support for display & hanging. Each art piece measures approximately 5" x 7" inches and can be hung, placed on a small table-top easel or simply displayed on a bookshelf. These mini oils are colorful and engaging.
Oil Paintings 1990-1995
The original oil paintings shown below are indicative of my early style and were created in the inner city of Baltimore, MD. Materials used: oil paint on canvas , gesso and wooden stretcher bars.
